Funny how I feel self conscious about writing things on here when I'm not training for something and/or have running as a buffer to lean on with every post.
Foot/ankle is still injured which tells me it's more than just something simple after running 50 miles at my dnf effort at Leadville. I've gotten out for three runs in the last week, each 6-7 miles and about 1,200-1,600 ft climb, keeping it very mellow and wearing three distinctly different pairs of shoes to see whether that would make a difference. No sharp pain but definitely something I notice and can tell won't just go away on it's own unless I take some time off. It's probably a tendon strain I hope. I even briefly entertained the notion of running the UROC 100k on the 28th but that would just be stupid. I suppose I'll just stick with the bikes when I do have the urge to exercise for now (though motivation has waned) and entertain myself with thoughts of planning next year's epic race schedule.
Heading out to look for a new place to live this week. I mean, c'mon, I've been in my current place an eternity of eight months. This summer has sucked in terms of weather (rain every fking day) and I'm not interested in spending another winter here in the mountains shoo'd away from the muddy trails and freezing my ass off.
Even though I only casually follow downhill mtn biking, I watch all the world cup races and love Rob Warner as an announcer. One of my favorites...
