Normal high for today should be 53 degrees. Yeah, I'm all for character building workouts and stretching mental toughness but I've had enough of this shit. Yeah, it's Colorado and I chose to train at high elevation all this year just for Leadman but c'mon. I've gotten to the point where I feel like I'm in a feud with the weather. I'm winning the fking battle and plan on continuing the victories! Hail idiot on the mountain!
Yep, not a day off from training since January 29 and before that I'd been idle just one day since moving here, crippled with broken ribs and hand. "Oh, my God, what a hypocrite!" Yeah, yeah, I don't like streaks but this has been very calculated scheduling of training phases and hasn't been the type of monotonous training that wears one down to the point of overtraining or overuse injury. There have been maybe three days when I've felt like, "screw training today - I'm staying in my PJs" but that feeling fades by mid morning and, after sitting at my laptop for six hours, I typically start fiddling with my garmin account and looking over my training log and upcoming plan and, the big motivator, my race schedule and I'm dressed and out the door to go smack mother nature in the forehead again (that's one of the top 4 longest sentences I've ever written).
