For just the second time in my illustrious racing life, I'm starting a race with bib #1 (
Grand Mesa 100). The first time was when RD/Ultra Legend,
Ray Krolewicz seeded me #1 for the Crowders Mountain 50k in 2008. I won that puppy in 4:22 to the raucous cheers of 3 onlookers.

Now if I can only figure out how to pack all my material crap in the "Flying Bullet" (Audi) for the move to CO, I'll be all set. The shaky plan is to stay in Virginia City tonight, drive a million hours to Grand Junction tomorrow, relax Friday, race Saturday, continue to the Front Range Sunday or Monday. Should be an interesting next few days.

You flying solo on this one?
ReplyDeleteYes, sir. One drop bag with lights.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Tim! I will wave to you as you drive through the Beehive State. If you need a place to crash on your way back, my door's open.
ReplyDeleteNot that far from VC to GJ, though I do feel for Pippit...wedged in you Audi with the rest of your stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou could always put Pippit on the roof ;).
ReplyDeleteShow me the way to go home. I'm tired and I want to go to bed. I had a little drink about an hour ago and it's gone right to my head. Wherever I may roam, by land or sea or foam. You can always hear me singin' this song...
ReplyDeleteGood luck and keep us updated!
Virginia City to Grand Junction sounds like Hwy 50, aka zen driving.
