For just the second time in my illustrious racing life, I'm starting a race with bib #1 (Grand Mesa 100). The first time was when RD/Ultra Legend, Ray Krolewicz seeded me #1 for the Crowders Mountain 50k in 2008. I won that puppy in 4:22 to the raucous cheers of 3 onlookers.
On the Grand Mesa 100 course.
Now if I can only figure out how to pack all my material crap in the "Flying Bullet" (Audi) for the move to CO, I'll be all set. The shaky plan is to stay in Virginia City tonight, drive a million hours to Grand Junction tomorrow, relax Friday, race Saturday, continue to the Front Range Sunday or Monday. Should be an interesting next few days.
