The Hardrock folks updated the wait list and I've moved to 16th on it. I feel like I'm going to get into the sucker. When I first applied and then saw I was on the wait list, I wasn't terribly excited and actually inwardly felt I didn't even want to run it. Now, I'm pretty fired up and will train as though I'm already in. My guess is that several folks hold on to their places in the race, even if injured or otherwise feel there's a chance they won't make it, just in case. They likely will pull the plug as July 8th approaches, thereby allowing me the opportunity to suffer for 30+ hours.
I pulled out of the mountain bike races this coming weekend and will likely just do a long run Saturday (likely the Boulder Skyline Traverse +, if anyone is interested in joining) and then a road cycling century (that's a 100 mile ride for those who who think clinchers might be some sort of sex tools) on Sunday up in Ft. Collins. I'm yearning to road ride anyway after watching the Giro (Tour of Italy) daily. The MTB race was just too far of a drive (Salida) and kind of expensive.

Feeling good after Ice Age and actually toyed with the idea of running Silver State 50 Mile in Reno but plane tickets cost more than a small child on the black market (not that I'd know first hand).
Oh, and the rain, enough already.
