The Race Shell Game





Gwyneth has agreed to be my pacer for all my 100 milers. Go figure! Had to do a bit of rearranging with the race schedule and ended up dropping the Tahoe Rim Trail 100 mile and the Golden Gate Dirty Thirty 50k (had to eat a little cash in backing out) in lieu of Bighorn 100 mile and Vermont 100 mile.  I'm still racing every month of the year and shooting for at least five 100 milers (possibly six).

Nice 1k cruise intervals tonight.  Feeling good and just 17 days out from some racing!

    Well, I'm doubtful I'll get in. And I've committed to Vermont. If I do happen to get in the HR lottery, I'll have a tough decision to make.

    You still in town? Running 4 hours at Walkers this Sunday if you're interested.

  5. The HR odds are not that bad. I think with one ticket it is something like 10-15% - leave it to the Ph.D-types to come up with a lottery where you can't actually determine your odds ;-) I got in last year on my first try so it is not unheard of. Bighorn is supposed to be quite nice though - if I don't get in HR I will probably do it as well.

    I'm still in town (should be here at least until May but it is looking more like I will stay at least through August). I would love to join you Sunday but combination of a messed up ankle and a thesis to finish mean 4 hours is probably a bit much.

  7. Yeah, would be nice to spend the summer (or longer) here at least. Looks like I have a free nice place to stay so will probably stay at least that long.

    Certainly should get out for a run soon. Maybe next week?
