Hangin' with Hang Nine

I hadn't seen George since May last year, so it was high time for me to drag him out for a run together.  We made our way from my place along Mesa trail to Chautauqua and back for a nice little run.  There seemed to be quite a few people hiking the trail for a run of the mill Thursday afternoon.

I shoe-horned my way into the Golden Gate Dirty 30 50k this Saturday.  There's a substantial amount of climb (9,000 ft!), so it should make for a long morning but I'm looking forward to it.

Here are a couple of shots of Pippit from out Memorial Day jaunt up Bear Mtn.  The little guy was so tired he laid down in the stream at the base of Bear.

  1. Good to hear you are going to do the 50k . I'm not so sure about 9k of climbing - I think it is more like 7k. Either way, there is plenty of climbing!

  4. I ran my own personal 50k there last year (read: got lost part way through) and it is definitely a tough course. There is some pretty tough rocky trail sections that slow it down. I would say anything around 5 hrs is a fast time.

I am good on a ride - thanks though.
