Wait Wait

Rested yesterday.  Ran 7 mi after work today on the trails, pushing a bit on the ups.  It always is funny to me how I seem to notice little aches and pains the week of a race, especially when I'm hardly running.  I know much of it is over-thinking the pains, over-thinking everything really.  In reality, I feel incredible and am prepared to run my race on Saturday, regardless of what others are doing around me.

A little run tomorrow, maybe.  Off on Thursday.  Loosen up for a half hour on Friday in CA, then fun in the sun on Saturday.  It looks as though the weather is going to be perfect, clear, low 45, high 60-ish.  Lists are written, splits are together, clothes laid out.

Fly out Friday, limp home Sunday!

  1. You are supposed to ache in the taper. Your body is repairing and preparing. Once you feel sluggish, it's go time!

Have a great run out there! Expecting a big result.

  3. I think I've heard it referred to as "taper tantrums." You're good to go.

  6. I was a happy tourist when I ran Miwok. Great trails, scenery and people! I do recall that I should have passed on the Pizza at the last aid station though, but discovered the perks of Tums. Aaaah, such fond race memories. Have yourself some fun rippin' around on those sweet Headlands trails and enjoy!
